PLAYING CDF 7 ON:  Friday July 31st 2020

Insidious Decrepancy was formed in the winter of 2000 by founder/creator Shawn Whitaker. After the demise of his former band, Viral Load, Shawn decided that since he was responsible for writing 100% of the music and about half the lyrics for the band, that he would get more accomplished if he did everything himself. His playing style at this time was making a shift to a more technical approach as well; thus Insidious Decrepancy was born. In the summer of 2001, Decadent Orgy of Atrocious Suffering was recorded and received awesome reviews throughout the underground.  In July of 2005, Shawn entered the studio once again to record his second effort, The Inerrancy of Profanation. This album showcased Shawn's maturity in his writing and gave a glimpse of the sickness yet to come.  The last Insidious Decrepancy album "Extirpating Omniscient Certitude" which was released in 2009 and kinda caught everyone by surprise. Shawn continued playing fests and shows after this release, and then in 2012 after some label drama, Shawn decided to put Insidious to rest, with the label drama and his fear of not being able to top Extirpating, Insidious died. Shawn then decided to become the world's first Solo brutal death metal artist and just come out as Shawn Whitaker. After doing a tour and playing many shows as S.W., it was kinda of apparently at that time 2014, that it was time for Shawn to call it quits in the DM underground. Years of debt and just being burned out doing the music had finally caught up to him. And so from 2014-2019 Shawn basically disappeared from the underground, not to be seens at shows or even online. Then in 2019, Shawn decided to pull his head out of his "I quit" ass and was asked to play CDF as Shawn Whitaker. Since then Shawn has recorded a debut e.p. and has shows booked like crazy. Then after hearing fans requests to bring Insidious back, and honestly wanting to give the project a shot again, Shawn decided that it's time to resurrect both Insidious and Viral Load to bring back the glory of the early 2000s and just to claim the throne of sickness again!!!
