BIO:

Kurnugia was formed in 2012 by ex-members of Nunslaughter, Decrepit, Incantation, Delusion, Manticore & more. These underground veterans set out to create a new group with an abysmal & heavy sound rooted in their original 80s/90s influences and previous bands.  Some favorites included early Immolation, Grave, Demigod, Goreaphobia & the depths of the worldwide demo scene.  This is old school, irreverent death metal capturing that early sound & essence missing in many of today’s “OSDM” or “retro” bands...  Their first release came in 2013 as the “Tribulations of the Abyss” 7” EP on Dismal Records / Pychoslaughter Records. In 2016, a CD EP was released on Lord of the Flies Records entitled “Condemned to Obscurity”, which saw the addition of Chris Dora (Decrepit, Soulless, Integrity) on drums.  Although both releases saw limited  distribution, they each received great reviews and laid the groundwork to continue their putrid quest... Later in 2016, Paul Gorefiend (Embalmer) joined on Vocals & Dylan Gordon (Limbsplitter) on guitar, adding new dimensions of torture and depravity to the band’s already disgusting sound. In 2020, this lineup released a new split 7” EP with Surgikill (feat. ex-members of Impetigo, FaithXtractor, etc) on Haunted Hotel Records. With the band’s debut full length “Forlorn and Forsaken” due out on April 27th via Memento Mori, Kurnugia is positioned to make an impact on this crumbling earth like a striking meteor shower from hell.  Their set at this year’s Chicago Domination Fest is not one you will want to miss... Join the congregation when they  take the stage Saturday August 1st!
